My research seeks to identify and understand factors influencing vegetation structure, composition and dynamics and how this information can inform natural resource management. Currently, my research focus on a range of issues including invasive plant science and management, ecological restoration, vegetation responses to management actions and alterations in disturbance regimes, and plant-animal interactions. I currently have an active research program in the interior Pacific Northwest centered on:
Other research interests include the ecology and management of economically and culturally important plant species, community-based resource management, and international natural resource management.
